Bailey’s Therapeutic Approaches to Therapy -

Solution focused Counseling

Solution-Focused Counseling is a goal-oriented, practical approach that helps you create meaningful change by focusing on what’s working rather than staying stuck in what isn’t. Instead of spending extensive time analyzing problems, we’ll work together to identify your strengths, resources, and past successes, using them as building blocks for progress.

In these sessions, you’ll be supported in setting clear, achievable goals and developing realistic steps to move toward them. This approach is especially helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to start—it provides structure, direction, and a sense of momentum.

Solution-Focused Counseling empowers you to recognize your own resilience and capability, helping you make positive shifts in your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships so you can move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

 Trauma- Informed Counseling

Trauma-informed individual counseling is an approach to therapy that recognizes the lasting impact trauma can have on your mind, body, and relationships. Rather than asking “what’s wrong with you,” this approach focuses on understanding “what happened to you” and how those experiences may still be shaping your current thoughts, emotions, and reactions.

In trauma-informed therapy, your safety, trust, and comfort are the priority. Sessions are paced with care and collaboration, allowing you to explore difficult experiences without feeling overwhelmed or retraumatized. Together, we’ll identify triggers, build effective coping strategies, and work toward helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and in control of your life.

This type of counseling supports adults in developing self-awareness, strengthening emotional resilience, and creating healthier patterns in relationships—so you can move forward with greater confidence and a renewed sense of stability.

Cognitive Behavioral Counseling

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In CBT counseling, we’ll work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or distress, and learn how to challenge and reframe them in a more balanced, realistic way.

This approach is practical and skill-based, giving you tools you can use in your everyday life. You’ll learn how to manage overwhelming emotions, respond differently to triggers, and develop healthier coping strategies that support long-term change.

CBT is especially effective for adults who want a clear, goal-oriented path toward feeling better, improving relationships, and gaining a greater sense of control over their thoughts and reactions.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. When trauma occurs, it can sometimes feel “stuck” in the brain, showing up as intrusive thoughts, emotional triggers, or negative beliefs about yourself. EMDR works to help your brain reprocess these experiences so they no longer carry the same intensity or hold.

In EMDR sessions, we use guided techniques such as bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) while safely exploring past experiences. This process helps your brain naturally integrate and make sense of what happened, allowing you to shift from feeling overwhelmed or triggered to feeling more grounded and in control.

EMDR is a structured and supportive approach that does not require you to go into extensive detail about your trauma. It is particularly effective for adults experiencing the lasting effects of trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs, helping you move forward with greater clarity, emotional relief, and confidence.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is a faith-based approach to therapy that integrates clinical mental health care with Christian beliefs and values. It provides a supportive space for individuals who want to explore emotional healing while also incorporating their faith, spirituality, and relationship with God into the counseling process.

In Christian counseling, we may use evidence-based therapeutic approaches alongside prayer, scripture, and spiritual reflection when desired by the client. This approach can help you process life’s challenges—including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship struggles—while staying grounded in your faith and personal convictions.

Sessions are centered on compassion, grace, and understanding, offering a safe space to bring both your struggles and your spiritual questions. The goal is to support healing in the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while helping you find hope, strength, and clarity in your faith journey.
